- To understand: Toffoli concentrates power and says only he can decide on the investigation
At the time, in addition to executing the arrest warrant against the bank’s controller, Daniel Vorcaro, and six other executives linked to the case, the PF also seized cell phones and laptops. But what worries Master’s lawyers the most is not exactly the fact that there is a contract, but rather the remuneration: 3.6 million BRL per month for 36 months starting in early 2024.
According to the information to which the Chronicle team had access, this is what appears in the document, which was not seized, but which was in digital form on Vorcaro’s cell phone, among the files he exchanged with employees of his bank.
- Strategy: Vorcaro sought legal shortcut to return Master’s case to Nunes Marques
- Transparency: Toffoli decrees secrecy and transforms Vorcaro’s action into a black box
The contract is very broad in scope, to represent the Master if necessary, and does not specify a single cause or process. If it had been fully respected, it would have brought 129 million reais to Barci de Moraes, Viviane’s office – which did not happen since Master was put into liquidation.
Everything indicates, however, that the office was paid handsomely for as long as possible, because in the messages with the Vorcaro team it was clear that the disbursements for Viviane were a priority for the Master and could not fail to be made under any circumstances.

The Chronicle team contacted Viviane and Master’s office to find out how much was paid and for what reasons, but received no response. At the office, an employee who answered the phone said no one would talk and she could not provide an email to send a request for information. The Master did not respond to the report’s questions.
We also contacted Minister Alexandre de Moraes, through the STF press service, but received no response. The space is open to manifestation.
One of the cases in which Viviane intervened was a criminal complaint filed in April 2024 by Vorcaro and Master against investor Vladimir Timerman, of Esh Capital, who has an old dispute with businessman Nelson Tanure, shareholder of Gafisa.

In the criminal complaint, Timerman is accused of slandering the banker, described as a “reputable 40-year-old businessman from Minas Gerais,” who Timerman said had “participated in and/or carried out fraudulent transactions between GAFISA and the Brazil Realty Fund” – of which, according to the investor, Master was a shareholder.
The lawyers’ argument is that Timerman intended to “criminally harm the honor” of Vorcaro and the Master. It also says he “publicly discredited and compromised the qualities of the plaintiffs that make them worthy of respect in civil society.”

In addition to Moraes’ wife, 10 other lawyers from the firm signed the criminal complaint, including the minister’s son, Alexandre Barci de Moraes, and his daughter, Giuliana.
Vorcaro was defeated in the first and second instances, but appeals are still pending.
