The Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, announced this Sunday (28/12) that pilots and flight attendants had given up on going on strike. The category’s union announced this afternoon that workers had approved the proposal to renew the Collective Labor Agreement for 2025/26, in an open vote this Saturday (27/12).
“URGENT: there will be no strike in aviation in Brazil. The agreement signed between the National Union of Aeronautics and the airlines, with the mediation of the TST, guarantees the normality of flights and the safety of passengers. Further strengthening business and leisure tourism”, published the minister on his profile on X.

Category Claims
Among the main points defended by the aeronauts were:
- recovery of salaries by the INPC + 3%;
- readjustment of food vouchers by the INPC + R$105;
- private pension;
- increase in international daily rates (US$4 for South America, the United States and Central America);
- double payment for the night.
The union also stressed that the fight against fatigue was a priority issue, associated with crew health and operational safety.
The approval took place after the narrow rejection of the previous employer proposal, during a vote which ended at the beginning of the week, when 49.31% of aeronautics voted against, 49.25% for and 1.44% abstained. Faced with the impasse, the SNA declared a state of strike, which maintained the possibility of a strike from January 1, depending on the result of this last negotiation.
Counterproposal
As a counter-proposal, the Superior Labor Court (TST) proposed a salary adjustment by the INPC + 0.5% and an 8% increase in food vouchers. This is the text which was submitted to online voting on Saturday and Sunday.
A strike meeting was called, but it was canceled since the consultation ended as follows: 65.93% of aeronautics voted in favor of the companies’ proposal and 32.77% voted against – 1.29% abstained.
The negotiation only involved Azul and Gol airlines. Latam employees had already approved a collective agreement during a vote held on December 11 and 12 and were therefore not included in the risk of strike.
