President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said this Monday (15) that the more correct Brazil is on the environmental agenda, the greater its chances of advancing in international negotiations and obtaining results abroad.
“The more we are right on the climate issue, on the environmental issue, on the quality of the product we produce, the more chances we will have of winning abroad,” he declared during the celebration of the opening of 500 international markets in 80 countries, between 2023 and 2025, in Brasilia.
He also said that the government continues to try to “break” the ostracism that Brazil placed for ten years on the external agenda, when no one had the desire to visit the country. According to the president, there was no program aimed at establishing relations abroad.
During his speech, Lula stressed that developed countries, which he classifies as the “rich world”, seek to achieve, by 2050, 40% renewable energy in their energy matrix.
On the other hand, according to the president, “modest countries”, a category in which he included Brazil, have already reached 53% of renewable energy this year.
Lula also said that bankers, businessmen and farmers have never been treated as well as in “his government.” According to him, it is a “state obligation”.
He also stressed that no country today is capable of competing with the “many possibilities” that Brazil has.
Lula said he intends to have Brazil’s largest commercial representation in Germany and India, in addition to taking female beauty entrepreneurs to South Korea, as it is a major cosmetics center.
The president also said he would invite as many Brazilian businessmen as possible to a trade fair in Germany. “We are going to welcome more business people to the fair because Brazil no longer presents itself as a bad thing,” he said.
