The Brazilian Navy offers 794 Voluntary Military Service (VMS) vacancies for temporary enlisted personnel, with opportunities spread across the country’s nine naval districts. The initial remuneration can reach R$3,835.00.
Registrations began on Tuesday (9/12) and remain open until January 27, 2026. For the 7th Naval District, which includes the DF, there are 29 vacancies for technical secondary education and 10 for elementary education.
Interested parties should access the Naval District page of their choice to register. The registration fee is R$70, but it is possible to request an exemption, between January 12 and 14, 2026, in the case of candidates registered in the Single Registry of Social Programs (CadÚnico) who are members of low-income families.
Soldiers incorporated into the 2nd Class Marine Reserve (RM2) have access, from the Training Course, to services such as medical-dental, psychological, social and religious assistance.
The vacancies include two diplomas: specialized sailor, intended for candidates with primary education and the Initial and Continuing Training Course (C-FIC) — short-term training focused on a specific technical field —, and corporal, for those with a secondary technical level.
Requirements
Those selected will be spread across the fields of healthcare, support, administration and industry, covering different specialties in each. Check it out here.
To participate, you must be Brazilian-born or naturalized, of both sexes, be over 18 years old and under 41 years old on the date of incorporation, have a good driving record, in addition to being registered and in good standing with the supervisory body of the profession for which you are applying, if applicable.
In the case of vacancies for specialist seafarers, you must have completed or be in the process of completing the primary education and continuing workers’ education course (including industrial apprenticeship courses) relating to the profession for which you are applying.
In the case of vacancies for corporals, you must have completed – or be in the process of completing – secondary education and a technical level course related to the desired profession. Higher level training (bachelor’s degree) will also be accepted, provided that it falls within the same field of training as the professional qualification for which the candidate has applied.
Measures
The first phase of the selection process consists of an objective test, lasting three hours, which must be taken on March 15, 2026. The exam will consist of 40 questions in Portuguese.
Successful candidates ranked among the highest scores will proceed to the remaining stages, which include: qualification test, bibliographic data verification, document verification, health inspection and physical fitness test.
Those who are approved at all stages and classified among the vacancies will be incorporated into the Navy as Grumetes (GR), receiving a scholarship of approximately R$1,398.30 as a student.
After successfully completing the Technical Apprenticeship Stage (EAT) or the Technical Training Stage (ETP), they will be promoted to specialized sailor or corporal, depending on the vacant position, with gross remuneration of R$2,792.70 and R$3,835.42, respectively.
Voluntary military service is temporary in nature, lasting a maximum of eight years, depending on the needs of the naval administration and the expression of the soldier’s own will, but it offers the possibility of professional development in the military career during this period.
