Police conducted a control operation in various central areas of La Plata to detect and disrupt illegal trading activities. As a result of the proceedings, 14 people were arrested and placed at the disposal of UFI No. 2 and the local regulatory court.
The operations were carried out by the patrol squad together with various police agencies and were under the heading “Investigation of illegal behavior, resistance to authority and violations of municipal ordinance 9127/00,” which prohibits undue charges for parking on public streets.
According to police, those who arrived late demanded money from drivers to allow parking and, in some cases, showed aggressive behavior when informed of the violation. For this reason, they were transferred to various police stations in the city, where appropriate operations were carried out before they were released.

The prosecutors who intervened confirmed the police’s actions and ordered the release of those involved, although the cases continue in court.
From the security sector, they indicated that controls continue in different parts of the urban area and in neighborhoods of the capital Buenos Aires, especially in areas with high vehicle traffic and near shopping centers.
The aim of the plan, they explained, is to strengthen public order and traffic safety, prevent conflicts with motorists and ensure free movement on public roads, a recurring problem in the center of La Plata.
