Although it has not been officially revealed, the full name of the doctor specializing in aesthetics arrested in Murcia for allegedly raping a patient in the operating room has spread like a hare throughout much of the Salamanca district. Because there, in the … In the heart of Calle Núñez de Balboa, stands the building where the doctor, who is already sleeping in prison, occasionally passed. Those who knew David GS in his work environment rub their eyes and cannot shake their astonishment and even refuse to believe that he did such a thing. A video recorded by the instrumentalist and an assistant who were going to accompany him in this surgical procedure left little doubt to the police and the Molina de Segura court which ordered his entry into prison.
Number 107 Núñez de Balboa is a majestic building typical of this area of the Spanish capital. It is divided into different offices, entirely dedicated to medicine. Some are empty, looking for tenants. A concierge assures ABC that she has never seen the suspect around, just like the receptionist of another aesthetic doctor, who has never even heard of him. The office in which this plastic surgeon sometimes worked is on the second floor, although it is actually rented to another professional with more than 25 years of experience.
“But David also had consultations, even if they don’t perform operations there, in the other doctor’s office,” says a person who knows him. “He hasn’t been here for a while,” he says, while emphatically insisting that the accusations “must be false”: “He’s a wonderful person and a professional,” he says. The defense, led by lawyer Pablo Martínez, insists on his innocence and that he relies on the presumption of innocence.
The truth is that in this building, dedicated exclusively to medical offices, there are no operating rooms. “The doctor works as an external doctor,” another employee of a Valencian clinic where she worked between 2021 and 2022 explains to this newspaper: “He only stayed here a few months. What some doctors do (and this is a fairly common practice in aesthetic medicine) is to hire an operating room, assistant staff and surgical equipment to carry out a procedure. The patient is followed very closely, surrounded by numerous professionals. They admit to being “very shocked by the news”: “The time he worked here, everything was very normal, there was no problem.”
The doctor in question studied at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and specialized at the University of Santiago de Compostela. He continued his training in Canada and Mexico, according to his public resume, among other places. But he mainly carried out aesthetic operations in the provinces of Valencia, Alicante, Madrid and Murcia. It was in the latter region, at the Imed Virgen de la Fuensanta hospital, that the attack allegedly took place on December 4.
The patient was going to have a breast augmentation and was already under general anesthesia on the table. The two assistants said they saw the doctor making copulatory movements between the woman’s legs and that’s when they recorded the scene with their cellphone, still in astonishment. The management and the National Police were present. Ufam Murcia agents, specialists in sexual crimes against women and minors, arrested him and he refused to testify. When the patient found out what had happened, she also filed a complaint.
The doctor operated mainly in Murcia, Alicante, Valencia and Madrid, although he usually rented the operating rooms for this purpose.
The Murcia clinic recalled that the subject was not part of the staff, but had rented the space for the intervention. It is unclear whether there are more possible victims in this area or others.
