The mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz (PP), has practically put in place the budget for 2026, which will be achieved thanks – once again – to an agreement with Vox, in the same way as he validated this year’s accounts. While the negotiations are over, the local government of the PP took a further step in this direction this Monday, accepting 16 of the 18 amendments of the far-right formation, 90%, which imply further reductions in the positions of the Women’s Service, in equality plans and in development cooperation.
Among the Vox proposals that the popular supported after the introduction of the transactions were more help for maternity, the creation of a place in the cemetery for unborn children, the empowerment of young sacred artisans and the increase in activities associated with the days of the Immaculate Conception and San Fernando, the patron saint of the city. Added to this is the strengthening of the Anti-Abortion Office (directly run by Santiago Abascal’s party) and the creation of three new museums: Holy Week, flamenco and the history of Seville.
The accounts will be definitively validated next Friday 19, a date which has political significance because just one day before, the budget of the Andalusian Government chaired by Juan Manuel Moreno (PP) will be approved, to which Vox has rightly presented an amendment in its entirety. And this same Friday marks the end of the campaign for the Extremadura elections, a coincidence that initially aroused doubts within the ultra-conservative party.
