
The Federal Highway Police (PRF) released this Monday (29/12) a video showing the exact moment of the accident that killed a family, two adults and two children, on the BR-101, in the state of Espírito Santo, near the town of Jaraguá.
The accident occurred on December 24 around 12:05 a.m., at km 95 of the highway. The victims were a 43-year-old man, a 39-year-old woman and two children aged 7 and 10.

According to the PRF, the accident involved four vehicles: a RAM 250 pickup truck, which was heading north and hit the rear of the family car, a Palio, which was thrown into the other lane, and ended up hitting two oncoming cars, a Cruze and a Corolla.
The camera was installed in the Corolla and records the exact moment the RAM 250 hits the rear of the Palio. The driver of the truck fled after the accident. According to the PRF, he presented himself at the police station this Monday (12/29).
Three other people involved in the accident were injured and transported to medical facilities in the region.
BR-101
The section of BR-101 where the accident occurred crosses the border between Espírito Santo and Bahia and has a high accident rate. On Saturday (27/12), another fatal accident occurred on the highway, killing 11 people.
The Federal Highway Police appeals to drivers in the video released about the Jaraguá accident: “The road does not accept mistakes. Haste or lack of attention destroys families forever. Let this video serve as a warning: in traffic your responsibility is the life of everyone around you.”
