The PSOE of Algeciras filed a complaint with the Prosecutor’s Office of the Supreme Court against the Mayor of Algeciras and Senator of the Popular Party, José Ignacio Landaluce, for allegations crimes of embezzlement of public funds, influence peddling and crimes against sexual freedom.
… Rocío Arrabal and Isabel Beneroso (general secretary and deputy general secretary of the PSOE of Algeciras) ask the public prosecutor accept the documentation presented and order all the necessary procedures to clarify the facts and determine possible criminal responsibilities.
The socialists also demand that the Town Hall of Algeciras provide information on the functions performed by former councilor Laura Ruiz and Inés Cortés, ex-wife of the popular Luis Ángel Fernández, hired as trusted personnel by the mayor of Algeciras himself.
Likewise, it is claimed that Landaluce declare as an investigator and that statements be taken as witnesses Laura Ruiz, territorial delegate of Health, Eva Pajares, current president of the Commonwealth of Municipalities, Susana Pérez Custodio and the Councilor for Social Inclusion of the Council, Loles López, among other former political leaders.
The PSOE already announced in February this year its intention to go to the Supreme Court to clarify whether the hiring of former councilor Laura Ruiz was a strategy to buy its silence, since she had threatened Landaluce on several occasions with report alleged irregularities committed during his mandateincluding alleged cases of power and sexual abuse.
