The PSOE is investigating a new complaint of sexual harassment against one of its public officials, in this case against Toni González, mayor of Almussafes and deputy secretary of the PSPV-PSOE of the province of Valencia. The complaint was filed by a woman who identified herself by first and last name and who also filed a second complaint for workplace harassment, for which an investigation was also opened by Ferraz.
The events allegedly occurred at Almussafes Town Hall and the woman went to report the events to both the Socialists Anti-Harassment Channel and the Regulatory Compliance Department. In both cases, investigations were opened to compare the facts and make decisions. Sources from Ferraz explained that at present no action has been taken against Toni González.
González was one of the strong men of the former Minister of Development now in prison, José Luis Ábalos, and now the right-hand man of Carlos Fernández Bielsa, secretary general of the PSPV-PSOE of the province of Valencia. Almussafes is one of the most powerful socialist groups in the province and González is one of the people to take into account in all the internal processes of the socialists.
The complaint against Toni González is the first filed against an official of the PSPV-PSOE, the same federation to which the organizational secretary of the PSOE, Rebeca Torró, and the equality secretary of the federal executive, Pilar Bernabé, belong. Bernabé is the one who took charge of the crisis after the scandal of complaints against Francisco Salazar.
After the Salazar affair, complaints have been filed in recent days against the current president of the Provincial Delegation of Lugo, José Tomé, who formalized his resignation this Friday; the former socialist general secretary of Torremolinos, Antonio Navarro; and the former secretary of studies and programs of the federal executive, Javier Izquierdo, who abandoned all his organic and institutional functions on the evening of the match.
