What was the hoax? Well, it was said that it was obligatory to carry a spray type, Otherwise, you would be subject to sanctions from the authorities if they caught you without one of these utensils inside the passenger compartment.
Is this true or is it a hoax?
As we detailed above, this rumor is completely falsewhich is a hoax. Furthermore, the organization led by Pere Navarro (DGT) has never confirmed this information in its official accounts, which happened, for example, with the V16 tag, which from January 1, 2026 will be mandatory in our country; or with the alleged interventions of the agents, who never searched the interior of the car in search of this spray or aerosol.
Why was the hoax born? Curiously, this false information arose from the fact that Annex II of the General Vehicle Regulationswhich tells us the accessories, answers and tools that vehicles must have inside to be able to get out of a compromising situation, such as a flat tire. Oddly enough, it is in this section that the already famous “obligatory spraying”.
In theory, and as reflected in the Regulations, drivers must travel “with a spare wheel or a wheel for temporary use”, Also accompanied by the necessary tools to carry out its replacement in an emergency. However, if we do not have this option, we can proceed with a “alternative system” which offers the “same guarantees”, namely the anti-puncture spray.
How does the spray work?
