
The red rain alert on the Valencia coast, activated this Sunday, ended this Monday at 6 a.m., a day when the maximum alert level will be orange (significant danger) in the southern interior and the Castellón coast, where until 6 p.m. 100 liters per square meter can accumulate in twelve hours. The passage of storm Emilia has not caused any serious incidents for the moment.
The rest of the Valencian Community remains on yellow alert (low danger) for rain, due to the forecast of precipitation that can accumulate 20 liters per square meter in one hour or 60 liters per square meter in twelve hours.
There is also a yellow warning for storms in Alicante and Valencia until midday, with the probability of waves appearing, and in Castellón until six in the afternoon.
The rain episode caused by storm Emilia left this Sunday in the Valencian Community maximum cumulative quantities of 149.1 liters per square meter in La Font d’en Carròs (Valencia) and 113 in the Borriana yacht club resort (Castellón), according to data from the Valencian Meteorological Association (Avamet).

The heaviest rains fell offshore, but it still rained a lot in the Castellón regions, with accumulations of between 40 and 90 liters per square meter in many places and between 100 and 110 on the beaches of Borriana and Nules and in some localities in the regions of La Safor and La Marina Alta, such as at 149 Font d’en Carròs.
Other significant records this Sunday were the 91.8 liters per square meter of Potries (Valencia), the 8 8 of Les Alqueries (Castellón), the 86.4 of Beniflà (Valencia), the 85.8 of Artana (Castellón), the 85.4 of Eslida (Castellón), the 84.8 of Oliva (Valencia) and Ondara (Alicante), the 82.8 from Betxí (Castellón) or the 81.8 from Almassora (Castellón).

A total of 14 municipalities in the provinces of Valencia and Castellón suspended school activities for this Monday due to the weather alert, which affects 78,744 students, according to data provided by the Ministry of Education at 10:00 p.m. this Sunday.
In the province of Valencia, 13 municipalities have decreed the closure of classes, in addition to neighborhoods in the city of Valencia and other flood-prone areas of the municipality. These are Albal, Alboraia, Aldaia, Alaquàs, Benetússer, Catarroja, Chiva, Loriguilla, Paiporta, Picassent, Sedaví, Torrent and Xirivella, most of them villages in the Danish zone. In total, 69,609 students were affected. For its part, in the province of Castellón, a total of 9,135 students are affected after the closure of schools in the municipality of Vila-real.
In the city of València, the Municipal Operational Coordination Center (Cecopal) of the Valencia City Council has agreed to close educational activity in the educational centers determined by the city hall in the Civil Protection protocol for orange alert situations due to rain: those located in flood zones and neighborhoods affected by the dana of October 29. Otherwise, educational activity will take place normally. In the case of Torrent, as reported by the Town Hall in a press release, Cecopal, meeting this Sunday at the end of the afternoon, agreed on the gradual resumption of municipal activity from 3:00 p.m., once the weather alerts have passed.
Therefore, school activities will resume at 3:00 p.m. in educational centers, parks and gardens will be open, as well as libraries, senior centers, municipal sports facilities and the rest of municipal offices, “as long as weather conditions permit and there are no changes in official forecasts”.
The University of Valencia and the Polytechnic University of Valencia have also suspended face-to-face classes. Classes will be telematic at least until 3 p.m. and 2 p.m. respectively.
