The 2026 F1 season starts a week early and will air again on Globo after five years on Band
The 2026 Formula 1 season begins with significant changes. In addition to the new technical regulations. The calendar has also undergone adjustments: the pre-season will be brought forward and will include private sessions, without press access, in Barcelona, between January 26 and 30. Open testing will then take place in Bahrain from February 11-13 and 18-20.
The championship will start earlier, on March 8, with the Australian GP, a week earlier than in 2025. The number of stages remains at 24, but with important changes: Imola leaves the calendar, while Madrid debuts as the venue for the Spanish GP. The Montmeló circuit will now host the Barcelona-Catalonia GP.
Sprint races have also been reworked. For the first time since its establishment, Interlagos will not have a stage. The six GPs chosen to receive the format in 2026 will be: China, Miami, Canada, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Singapore.
Modification of broadcasting rights
Formula 1 returns to Globo after five seasons presented by Band. All stages will be broadcast on the digital platforms of SporTV and Grupo Globo, with full coverage before and after the race. In addition, 15 races will be broadcast on open TV. It is also possible that the rankings for the São Paulo GP will be displayed on Globo, although the company has not officially confirmed this information. F1TV remains available as an official streaming alternative, providing direct access to broadcasts and category-exclusive content.
