“The Secret Agent”, directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho, was announced this Monday morning (8) as a Golden Globe nominee in the category of best foreign language film.
The film follows the story of a university professor who flees São Paulo after falling out with a businessman. He returns to his native Recife and adopts a false name, living in hiding for his safety.
The film won two awards at the Cannes Film Festival, best actor for Wagner Moura and best director for Kleber Mendonça Filho.
The Golden Globes ceremony will take place on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
