The STF (Federal Supreme Court) sentenced Aildo Francisco Lima to 14 years in prison for having broadcast live, sitting in the chair of Minister Alexandre de Moraes, during the antidemocratic acts of January 8.
Lima was found guilty of five crimes: violent abolition of the democratic rule of law, attempted coup d’état, qualified damage, damage to classified property and armed criminal association.
The convict sat on Moraes’ chair and said, “Hey, guys, this is Xandão’s chair. Damn, now I’m Minister of the Court. Come on, c*ck.” Lima’s defense questioned the authenticity of the video, saying the file does not match the original version published by him.
However, in a statement to the Federal Police, Lima denied publishing the video on his social networks, but admitted the authorship of the material. On September 27, 2023, he was preventively arrested by the PF in Campo Limpo Paulista, inside São Paulo.
The arrest was unanimously upheld by the first college of the STF in June 2024. In April, Moraes placed him under house arrest. The minister determined precautionary measures, such as the use of electronic ankle bracelets, the ban on using social networks, communicating with other people involved in January 8, granting interviews and receiving visits, with the exception of lawyers and family members.
