A 33-year-old woman was killed this Friday (5) in Araraquara (273 km from São Paulo) and, a few hours later, her ex-partner, suspected of having committed the crime, died in an accident on a highway.
Francisca da Silva Lima was stabbed to death in the interior city of São Paulo, in front of the house where she lived with her son, in São Paulo Park.
The victim’s body was found by a passerby and recognized by neighbors.
The Samu (Mobile Emergency Care Service) was called by the residents and, arriving on site, confirmed Francisca’s death.
According to the police, her ex-partner, Luiz Fabiano Mendes, did not accept the end of the relationship, accused her of cheating and decided to kill her. The couple’s fights were frequent, according to neighbors who reported to officers.
After hitting Francisca, according to the police report, Mendes was involved in a road accident when he crashed the vehicle he was driving, a Polo, into a truck, at km 86 of the Comandante João Ribeiro de Barros highway (SP-255).
The car crossed into the opposite lane of the highway and collided head-on with a truck. The driver died instantly.
Police are investigating whether the accident was deliberately caused by Mendes.
Expertises were requested from the IC (Institute of Criminalistics) and the IML (Legal Medical Institute). Francisca’s death is the subject of an investigation by the DDM (Women’s Defense Police Station) of Araraquara.
