During the celebrations for Christmas and New Year, Gas stations across the country will operate under a special service program, with reduced opening hours early in the morning on key dates.
This was reported by the Association of Hydrocarbons and Related Trading Companies of the Argentine Republic (CECHA), which confirmed that the measure is applied in accordance with the provisions of most collective agreements in the sector.
Reduced opening times at petrol stations for Christmas and New Year
As CECHA reports, there will be no service for the general public between 10 p.m. and 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. during the following periods:
- From 10pm on December 24th to 6am on December 25th
- From 10:00 p.m. on December 31st to 6:00 a.m. on January 1st
- This scheme will be repeated throughout the national territory and will affect the usual fuel loading operations during these windows.
Emergency supplies: who can load fuel?
During night hours when general operations are suspended, stations will maintain minimum security for essential services only.
Only:
- Ambulance
- fire units
- Security forces
- Public assistance and emergency vehicles
The remaining drivers have to wait for regular services to reopen.
Recommendations for refueling on vacation
Given this particular measure, CECHA recommends loading fuel in advance and doing so before 10:00 p.m. on December 24th and 31st, especially for those who plan to travel at night or early in the morning.
By planning ahead, you can avoid delays, setbacks and mobility issues during times of high vehicle traffic.
How much does it cost to fill a gas tank in Argentina?
According to a report by UADE’s Institute of Economics (INECO), refueling an average vehicle in Argentina currently costs $99,407.
This amount corresponds to 5.15% of the average gross salary in the private sector and is, in real terms, the lowest value in the last eight years.
The study compares inflation-adjusted gasoline costs, making it possible to measure their true impact on purchasing power. Under this criterion, the current price shows a significant reduction compared to previous periods.
During the current administration, the average cost of filling a tank was $112,974, a decrease of 7.8% compared to the average during Alberto Fernández’s administration, when the value reached $122,521.
Although fuel remains a relevant expense for households, it is now more accessible than in previous years, according to official figures.
