Federal judge Macário Ramos Júdice Neto, of the TRF-2 (Federal Regional Court of the 2nd Region), was arrested by the Federal Police, this Tuesday morning (16), as part of the 2nd phase of Operation Nail and Flesh, which is investigating the role of public officials in the leak of confidential information.
The judge was arrested at his home in Barra da Tijuca, southwest of Rio de Janeiro.
The judge’s defense has not been located. THE Leaf requested the Federal Court and the TRF-2, but there was no response until the publication of this text.
Neto is the rapporteur of the trial against former deputy Thiego Raimundo dos Santos, known as TH Joias, arrested on suspicion of links with Comando Vermelho. In September, the judge issued an arrest warrant for the former deputy of Operation Zargun.
In today’s action, in addition to the preventive arrest warrant against the judge, the PF executes ten search and seizure warrants, issued by the STF (Federal Supreme Court), in Rio de Janeiro and Espírito Santo.
TH Joias is accused of serving as an intermediary in the purchase and sale of drugs, weapons and equipment on behalf of Comando Vermelho. TH was from the MDB (he was expelled after his arrest) and was the allied base of Governor Cláudio Castro (PL) and Rodrigo Bacellar in Alerj (Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro).
