UK to re-enter Erasmus+ international student exchange program after reaching deal with European Union, British Agenda says The Guardian. The deal is expected to be announced this quarter, on a rotating basis, in a move that will involve volunteers from London and Brussels to strengthen their relationship after Brexit. Commitment to be implemented in 2027.
The agreement would make it easier for students from the EU and the United Kingdom, from professional or university courses, to undertake reciprocal stays. And it would significantly reduce the price of registration fees that some and others are currently forced to pay.
After Brexit, the cost of studying in the UK for young Europeans has skyrocketed. Instead of the 1,900 euros per course that British students pay, those from EU countries are forced to pay up to 43,000 euros. A similar situation occurs conversely when UK students study on the continent, meaning UK university centers have declined due to exchange rates.
