
In operation for a month, the Undersecretariat for Ecological Transformation of the Ministry of Finance will aim to act as a “command tower” of the Ecological Transformation Plan created by the ministry. The plan, which constitutes the main environmental initiative of this third term of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), has already seen almost 70% of its actions implemented, but it remains unclear what impact these measures will have on the fight against climate change and the acceleration of Brazil’s transition to a low-carbon economy.
