The University Club of La Plata (CULP) agreed in its last general meeting to sign a cooperation agreement with a development company for the joint management, management and operation of its nautical headquarters in Ensenada, in a project that the institution describes as “a before and after in the history” of the company.
The agreement allows for an upgrade of facilities, an improvement in services and an expansion of the headquarters’ sports, social and leisure offerings. The improvements arise from the master plan prepared by the Clorindo Testa Foundation with a focus on “preserving the cultural and historical heritage of the emblematic Punta Lara estate and providing technical advice to Puerto La Plata in relation to the care of the river environment”.
In a first phase, the strategic plan envisages the creation and development of a nautical kindergarten with an excursion to the river, catering areas, tennis and paddle tennis courts, a gym and a wind sports school (kitesurfing, windsurfing, among others). In addition, members receive benefits and discounts on all activities.
The project also provides for the possibility of long-term developments, always with the approval of the general meeting.
On Wednesday 17, the meeting was held at which, in addition to the approval of this development plan and the expansion of the Nautical Headquarters, the progress of the works planned for the period 2024-2027 was presented, including the completion of the water hockey field, the arrival of Cachito Vigil at the club, the renovation of the swimming hall, the renovation of the tennis area and the progress of the gymnasium in Gonnet.
