THE University of Cordoba (UCO) is moving forward in its major redevelopment project of the campus of Rabanales. The profile of the master builder of this academic institution reflects the one who has just awarded the flourishing company in Córdoba. Sepisur the following bundle of works by 2.2 … million -This is strictly speaking the second stage of the first phase, to which there will still be a third cycle of actions.
Among the work that the winning company of the competition will have to carry out, there will be the execution of the parking bags located to the southwest of the campus and its connection with the vials executed during the first action performed.
From the start of the work, Sepisur must undertake them in 16 months. As noted, there will still be a third stage of work to complete the first phase, which will cost around 1.6 million.
Infrastructure modernization
THE First sub-phase completed in early 2025 and this involved the renovation of roads and sidewalks, a new sanitation, drinking water and irrigation network, and the installation of efficient lighting on roads and perimeter fences. The work cost 1.6 million euros. And these are the first to be carried out in 25 years.
The importance of this macroproject was well understood by the rector of UCO, Manuel Torralbo, when he visited the completion of the first works in February. He declared that “the redevelopment of Rabanales This is a key project which will modernize its infrastructure and will enhance the academic experience. “This intervention aims for sustainability and makes it more pleasant and is not only urbanizing, it is also humanizing.”
In total, they must undertake four additional phases to complete this ambitious and costly renovation of the campus. UCO is undertaking what was not done at the time, with the beginning of this campus at the end of the last century: fundamentally changing the urbanization inherited from the old “Onesimo Redondo” University of Labor.
