US Treasury Secretary Scott Besent announced on Monday that his department is investigating alleged transfers of “workers’ taxes” from the state of Minnesota to the terrorist organization Al-Shabaab under the “mismanagement” of the previous administration and state Governor Tim Walz.
“Under my supervision, the U.S. Department of the Treasury is investigating allegations that, under the irresponsible mismanagement of the Biden administration and Governor Tim Walz, tax dollars may have been diverted from Minnesota workers to the terrorist organization Al-Shabaab,” Besant announced on the X social network.
In this sense, he stated that they would share “their findings as the investigation continues,” which he placed within the framework of the government initiative headed by Donald Trump “to ensure that American taxes do not finance acts of global terrorism.”
This announcement came a day after Trump insisted on describing Walz as “retarded,” as part of his attacks on his state administration for allegedly “allowing” the entry of Somalis and “paying billions” to what “is not even a country.”
