
The residents of the Leonese town of Villamanín reached an agreement in principle this Friday evening to be able to recover the Christmas prize, which amounted to number 79,432, thanks to some shares sold by the Festivities Commission, and which left a price of 32 million euros in the city.
The members of the Commission they give up two million euros of their own price minimize the economic impact among the winners, even if there are still two neighbors who reject the agreement and could go so far as to take the conflict to court.
The controversy broke out in recent hours when we learned that the members of the Commission They sold 50 more shareswithout support for corresponding tenths.
The Commission can only guarantee a tenth of the 32 million euros corresponding to 400 actions, but it cannot do so with the 4 million euros with which the 50 oversold ballots were allocated and which they attribute to an error.
The Festivals Commission as an entity I only played a tenth of it, i.e. 400,000 euros in prize money, which was made available to try to reduce part of the deficit of the missing 4 million; that is why the meeting began this Friday afternoon at the headquarters of the Villamanín Retirement House, 46 kilometers north of León.
One person representing each unitholder was authorized to attend the meeting. At the door there was scenes of tension, even anxiety by those who are not in favor of this solution.
