Once again! The Multishow Awards 2025 took place on Tuesday evening (9), in Rio de Janeiro, and mixed nominees and famous guests from the music industry to celebrate the best of the year. The edition paid special tribute to Gilberto Gil, who tours Brazil with his last major tour, called Tempo Rei.
The young singer Joao Gomes was the big winner of the event, taking home five different trophies, including individual and project awards Sundaywhich includes the participation of Mestrinho and Jotapê.
In a speech of thanks after receiving the main statuette of the occasion, João was moved and said: “Praise God and thank you to my wife for making me a kinder man every day.”
Bahian Ivete Sangalo opened the evening with a devastating performance that moved and warmed the audience. Then, João Gomes, Mestrinho and Jotapê presented some pieces from the Dominguinho project. Gilberto Gil has been honored by big names in music like Roberto Carlos, Maria Bethania, Chico Buarque, Caetano Veloso, Flor Gil and others.
