Donald Trump’s advisers have demanded that the trophy be at least the same size as the one held by the World Cup-winning team. The objective was to give more luster to the distinction, particularly compared to that awarded to the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, who “only” receives a medal. In Trump’s case, he received a trophy, a medal and even a FIFA certificate.
The prize was created precisely this year with the aim of being offered to Donald Trump.
The White House’s original idea, the publication reports, was for the two U.S. Marines who carried the trophy to be next to the president when he received the award, but FIFA did not agree.
