The Andalusia International Rowing Open celebrated its nineteenth edition this weekend. For the occasion, some 1,000 athletes from 54 countries gathered at the Specialized High Performance Center on Cartuja Island in Seville. … clubs from Spain, Mexico, Chile, France, Portugal and Great Britain, among which Club Náutico Sevilla won the title.
For the second consecutive season, the Sevillian club achieved the victory that allowed it to raise the flag of Andalusia in an event intended for the absolute, youth and cadet categories, which took place over two days and a total of 203 laps. After counting them, Náutico Sevilla accumulated 2,044 points to maintain the provisional leadership it held at the end of the first day. And as it happened after Saturday’s tests, they were accompanied in the privileged positions to receive the corresponding giraldillos from Real Círculo de Labradores and Club Nàutic Amposta, second and third classified with 1.989 and 938 points.
The final top ten of the competition organized in the Guadalquivir basin, in which, in addition to foreign and Andalusian clubs, also participated, on the national side, clubs from Asturias, Aragon, Cantabria, Catalonia, the Valencian Community, Madrid, Galicia and the Basque Country, was completed by the Real Club Regatas de Alicante (4th with 846 points), the Real Club Mediterráneo de Málaga (5th with 696), CN Infante. (6th with 562), Real Clube Fluvial Portuense (7th with 502), CR Miño (8th with 421), Club de Remo Guadalquivir 86 (9th with 306) and Naval Remo (10th with 303).
The Andalusian representation also includes the Linense Rowing Club (28th with 78.5 points), the CD Remeros y Piragüistas Veteranos de Sevilla (45th with 20) and the Club Remo de Mar La Línea (52nd with 0).
The closing of the XIX International Open of Andalusia took place in the presence of the president of the Andalusian Rowing Federation, Fernando Briones; the director of FAR Jesús Medina and the Sports Delegate of Seville City Hall, María Tena.
