He Zurich Seville Marathon 2026 announces important improvements to consolidate its route as one of the fastest in the world and which will even make it flatter with fewer meters of elevation than the previous one, to continue consolidating itself as the most … plain of Europe and, possibly, the world. These changes will also make waves at the start for popular riders and maintain successful post-arrival and changing room services, and will not impact further traffic disruptions in the city on previous days.
The main novelty is that the finish line and the start of the Zurich Seville Marathon, of which ABC Seville is the official sponsor, will no longer be at the same point. The exit arch will be located on Avenida de María Luisa, near the Casino Exhibition and the Cid statue.. This new location will allow for different starting waves for each box, so that all runners can run at their own pace from the first meter and also avoid crowds at other points on the course. The finish line will continue to be located on Paseo de Las Delicias, at the Buenos Aires roundabout.and changing room services will be maintained in the port area and at the finish line, as has worked with great success in previous editions.
These two measures, separating arrival and departure and now the changing rooms and post-arrival, aim to improve comfort and services for the more than 16,500 popular runners who will participate. For the just under 500 elite athletes, this new course will also have an impact on the drastic reduction in meters of positive slope and will complete the opening of an already practically perfect course to give the best of itself during the 42,195 meters on February 15, 2026.
Thus, the virtues are maintained and the inequality of the test is improved, since it continues to go through all the monumental scenarios as in previous years (Torre del Oro, Maestranza, Ronda Historica, streets of the city center…) and the two steps of the Arjona Street underpass, which were the only slopes that the marathon runners had to face, are removed. With this new route, the historic round takes a larger place, and will be increased by up to four new entertainment points on the section (Capuchins roundabout, Resolana or Duquesa de Alba roundabout).
