Access to a Non-contributory disability pension is a procedure that combines medical assessments and administrative requirements and aims to verify whether a person is for themselves disabilityis really unable to integrate into the job market. This benefit – managed by ANSES together with that National Disability Agency– is aimed at people with severe functional limitations and in economically precarious situations. In this process the Uniform Certificate of Disability (CUD)as it is one of the most important documents for proving your health status and for further applications.
Who can apply for the pension and what requirements are checked
- Have one Official medical certificate (CMO) which certifies a degree of incapacity for work of at least 66%, a central element for initiating the application.
- The interested party cannot receive any further retirement or other pension, nor can he work as a registered, self-employed or monotributist worker under the general system.
- The economic resources of the family group, the legal residence in Argentina and other administrative aspects that make it possible to determine the risk situation are checked.
The amount of the benefit corresponds 70% of the current minimum pension and can be managed both online – via Mi ANSES – and in person with a prior appointment.

How to start the process step by step
Applying for a pension can be an extensive process due to the variety of medical and social requirements that need to be checked. Below is a clear guide to know what is needed.
1. Requirements
Before starting administration, it is imperative to comply with the following conditions:
- You have a disability that reduces your ability to work to 76% or more.
- Do not receive any previous contribution-related benefits (retirement, withdrawal or pension).
- They do not have their own income or significant assets.
- You have Argentine citizenship or long-term residency:
- Naturalized Argentines: at least 5 years of residence.
- Foreigner: living in the country for more than 20 years.
2. Formal start of the application
The procedure can be carried out at ANSES, with a pre-arranged appointment, or at the ANDIS Local Care Centers (CAL). The DNI, CUIL certificate and all medical documents proving the applicant’s health status are presented there.
3. The role of the official medical certificate (CMO)
The CMO is an important document issued by public hospitals or authorized professionals. It includes diagnosis, additional studies, prognosis and information on the degree of disability. Without this certificate, the pension cannot be calculated.
4. ANDIS Assessment
The National Disability Agency analyzes each case in detail. The exclusive criterion used is not the name of the disease, but the extent of the impact it has on the person’s work and daily life. The company determines whether the pension should be granted or not.
5. Final dissolution and start of the survey
If the application receives the green light, ANSES will add the beneficiary to the system and begin billing the monthly payment. If the answer is negative, you have the option of filing an administrative claim or going to court.
