Castilla-La Mancha strengthens its commitment to cycling with new events for 2026 such as the Spanish Cycling Cross Championshipwhich will be held in Tarancón (Cuenca) at the beginning of January; he Spanish Master Championship, which will take place in … Talavera de la Reina in the near future; and, as might be expected, new stages of the Tour of Spain by bike. The general director of Youth and Sports, Carlos Yuste, made this statement during the Gala of the Cycling Federation of Castile-La Mancha, held at the Herencia Auditorium (Ciudad Real).
In his speech, Carlos Yuste highlighted that the commitment to cycling not only involves new tests, but also strengthens others that were born in these years, such as the 2025 Spanish School Cycling Championship, organized in Tarazona de la Mancha (Albacete); the 2025 Castilla-La Mancha Women’s Cycling Tour; the 1st Cycling Tour of Castile-La Mancha LEADER 2025; the Ontur Grand Prix or the Lolo Sanroma Memorial.
After congratulating those recognized at the gala and stating that they are an example for all citizens, especially those who consider cycling as part of their lives, he highlighted the great names who gave “two-wheeling” to the region, many of them competing at the highest levels and winning the biggest and most acclaimed prizes in the discipline.
“In this gala, the most outstanding cyclists in the region are rewarded in all categories, from school sports to masters,” recalled Carlos Yuste. “You are a source of pride, you are progress and you are a commitment, as well as the best ambassadors of our territory,” he added.
Finally, the Director General spoke of the strong political and economic commitment of the regional government in favor of cycling and recalled that over the last decade more than 500,000 euros have been allocated.
