Father Fabio de Melo shared a sparkle in his social networks this Monday (12/16), reflecting on the criticism he constantly receives regarding the priesthood.
“One day, contrary to all the expectations of those who saw me grow up, I became a priest. Many continue to believe that I am not fit for this role. They ask for my expulsion, they say that I am a disgrace to the Church,” the religious began in a post on Instagram.

What does the archdiocese say about the complaint against Fábio de Melo in the Vatican?
“Jesus only chose weird people”
He also pointed out that Jesus always chose imperfect people: “I understand. I am also the victim of a moralism that blinds me, which makes it difficult to go back in time and face the fact that Jesus’ HR was the worst in history.
Father Fábio de Melo concluded his outburst by strengthening his welcoming mission:
“For 24 years, even though I am a man full of imperfections, I have welcomed those who pass into my life. In a special way, those who do not feel invited, those who do not enter through the front door. Only if this is the case can I enjoy a certain coherence. If at any point in our lives my priestly ministry had meaning for you, thank you for your trust. It was worth being who I was.”

Journalist Juliana Leite, known for her videos reacting to viral content, became a topic on the networks after participating in the podcast Pod Tudo e + um Pequeno, where she gave her opinion on Father Fábio de Melo, recently involved in a controversy with a cafeteria employee.
During the interview, Juliana criticized the cleric’s position and said that she did not consider him a priest, even though he revealed that he had been living with depression for years. “Then he says, ‘I’m depressed.’ Man, I’m sorry, everyone knows where his depression comes from. Nothing about this guy is real,” he said.
The communicator also said she believes the priest should be excluded from the Catholic faith, arguing that he lives like a pop star and not a priest. “I think he uses this idea of being Catholic because he doesn’t live like a priest. His life is not like a priest, everyone knows that, honestly. I think he should be kicked out of the Catholic faith,” he said.
Finally, Juliana emphasized that Fábio de Melo does not represent her as Catholic. “Everyone knows that, right? It’s already obvious. So you always blame the Internet. That’s easy, right? No one who doesn’t live their own truth is free, right? In fact, I have no patience for this priest, and as a Catholic, he doesn’t represent me.”
