
The Civil Guard of Algeciras (Cádiz) arrested a driver who traveled four kilometers with a delivery man on the hood of his van on the A-7 highway towards Malaga after arguing with the delivery man. The events occurred on November 29 at the roundabout near the Puerta de Europa shopping center. As reported by the Civil Guard, an argument took place between the driver of a van and the driver of a motorcycle, who was carrying a thermal backpack from a delivery company.
At one point, and without anyone knowing how, the delivery man ended up hanging on to the van’s windshield wipers, ending up on the hood of the vehicle. The car traveled approximately four kilometers on the highway without stopping and making sudden maneuvers with the intention of throwing the person on it onto the road, thus putting the motorcyclist and other users in serious danger. Civil guards from the Algeciras Civil Guard detachment intercepted the vehicle and arrested the driver for two alleged offenses against road safety, one for driving a motor vehicle with obvious recklessness and endangering the lives of other users, and another for lack of a driving license due to the total loss of legally assigned points, included respectively in articles 380 and 384 of the Penal Code.
Offenses are punishable by prison sentences of six months to two years and deprivation of the right to drive motor vehicles and mopeds for a period of more than one to six years. In addition, the driver was transferred to the offices of the Civil Guard of the Algeciras Command, for the corresponding instruction of the procedure, being placed at the disposal of the Algeciras Guard Court.
