Two days after one 75-year-old woman says she was a victim of sexual abuse in his department CordovaThe arrest of the defendant was confirmed this Saturday. While he remained on the run, a picture of his face circulated on social media.
The arrest took place at around 9 a.m. on a public street at 520 Avenida General Álvarez de Arenales, in the Juniors neighborhood, after a police operation launched thanks to the cooperation of neighbors.
Police sources confirmed that a resident of the area managed to recognize him thanks to the photo circulated on digital platforms. He then called 911 to provide details of the defendant’s whereabouts.
This all happened on Thursday morning around 7:00 am in an apartment at the intersection of Catamarca and Ovidio Lagos. When the victim was intercepted, he was alone. For this reason, one of the residents reported that the situation was triggered by the woman’s screams alerting the residents of the building.
“A woman was screaming, the neighbor downstairs heard it and called 911,” a neighbor said during a conversation with El Doce.tv. He even stated that the attacker entered the property with the intention of committing rape and also stole money before escaping.
“The intent was rape, he was found to have stolen money but the intent was rape.”said another neighbor. After authorities arrived at the scene, witnesses said the suspect attempted to escape through the ground floor.
However, when he noticed the police presence outside, he returned to the apartment and eventually managed to escape through the back of the building and the roofs of surrounding houses. During the escape, a witness managed to take a picture of the suspect with his cell phone, a photo that quickly circulated on social networks and made it easier to identify the alleged perpetrator.
