Now that the bodies of Oscar-winning director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Singer Reiner, have been released from autopsy, the family is preparing to hold the farewell ceremony. However, everything will be done with extreme care due to the circumstances in which the couple’s death occurred. Both men were murdered last week and the main suspect in the crime is their son Nick Reiner – a fact which has left the family in shock.

According to British journalist Rob Shuter, who covers celebrities, the artist couple’s family wants “the ceremony (to be) deeply private and carefully protected.” For now, they are rejecting a larger farewell that would involve the presence of the general public.

The reason, as you can imagine, is simple. Relatives are completely shocked by how everything happened. They can’t handle a public spectacle right now. It’s about dignity, safety and grief,” said a British journalist source.
Despite this, the ceremony must have brought together many famous people, who were part of the social environment in which the Reiner couple lived. Former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama have reportedly already been invited to the farewell ceremony. “They know how many people want to pay their respects, but this first goodbye is strictly reserved for the family and those who were in their daily lives,” the source added.
A public tribute intended for admirers and the general public should be organized soon. “The industry wants and must pay tribute to them,” the person told the journalist.

Authorities say Rob and Michele Reiner were found dead in their home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles after one of the couple’s daughters located the bodies and called police. City firefighters were the first to arrive on scene and requested backup, and shortly afterward, the LAPD Homicide Division took control of the investigation.
Nick Reiner was arrested the same day his parents’ deaths were discovered. The authorities stressed that he showed no attempt to escape or resistance. Last Wednesday (17), Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman confirmed that Nick was facing aggravated homicide charges for the murder of his parents, which could result in a life sentence without the possibility of parole or even the death penalty.
