A man was rescued this Friday afternoon by members of Maritime Rescue and the firefighters after being washed away by the sea on La Arenita beach, in Arona (Tenerife)

Several swimmers and firefighters tried to help him until he was rescued by the rescue boat, which took him to Los Cristianos, where an ambulance was waiting.

The swimmer was slightly injured and, once on land, he was assisted by a medical team from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC).
Storm ‘Emilia’ activated the maximum alert for waves and the warning of the risks of flooding, wind and rain in the Canary Islands, with areas closed to swimming due to the danger of the sea.
