The capsizing of a Portuguese fishing boat at the mouth of the Miño sparked a search operation. Currently, two crew members have been located, one Portuguese and the other Indonesian, and the search continues for three other sailors, all of Indonesian origin.
As confirmed by maritime rescue sources consulted by Europa Press, the vessel is the Portuguese fishing boat Vila de Caminha and it appeared next to the Portuguese vessel at the mouth of the Miño.
The search operation is coordinated by the MRCC of Lisbon, with the collaboration of Galicia. Currently, the Salvamar Mirach, a SASEMAR 101 aircraft and a Koala helicopter have been deployed. In addition, the Pesca I rescue helicopter, from Gardacostas de Galicia, is collaborating in the search.
According to 112 Galicia, after 1:30 p.m., the Miño naval command reported the location of an overturned boat at the mouth of the river, near Illa da Ínsua.
From the Integrated Emergency Care Center, the information was transferred to Maritime Rescue, the Gardacostas Service of Galicia, the Civil Guard, the Morrazo and Vigo Fire Brigade and the GES da Guarda. Research efforts are being carried out on Portuguese territory.
