The Civil Guard arrested two men, aged 22 and 45, as suspected perpetrators of a fraud offense, after an investigation which helped to elucidate a fraud of more than 77,000 euros committed through the illicit use of supply cards … in Valencia and Castellón.
The investigation began in September, after a complaint by a local transport company, which detected irregular fees made with two refueling cards associated with one of their trucks. These cards were allegedly used fraudulently to provide fuel to third parties at different gas stations located in the provinces of Valencia and Castellón.
Faced with these events, the investigation area of the Civil Guard of San Vicente del Raspeig began the operation, focusing its investigations on the analysis of the data obtained during the investigations. The efforts carried out verified that the perpetrators were using the cards to refuel vehicles other than the injured company, thus obtaining an illicit economic advantage at its expense.
Investigations revealed that part of the refueling had been carried out at trucks registered abroad who then left the national territory. However, continued work by officers has resulted in the suspected perpetrators being fully identified.
Finally, investigators managed to locate the two perpetrators in the towns of Villarreal and Castellón, proceeding to their arrest and carrying out the corresponding procedures.
The detainees, two men aged 22 and 45, accused of the crime of fraud, were placed at the disposal of the investigating court acting as guardian in Villarreal and Castellón respectively, which ordered their release with the imposition of precautionary measures.
