The defender Thiago Silva leaves Fluminense. The information was revealed by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, a reference on the transfer market, this Monday 15, the day after the elimination of the Rio team for the Vasco in the semi-finals of Brazilian Cup.
According to Romano, the 41-year-old’s priority is to be closer to his family, who live in London, England, where his children play for the youth teams of Chelsea, the defender’s last club before his move to Fluminense. Hired by Fluminense in July 2024, Thiago Silva played 66 matches during his second stint with the Rio team. In 2025, the year in which the club reached the semi-finals of the Club World Cup and the Brazilian Cup, in addition to reaching fifth place in the Brasileirão, he played 46 matches, scored four goals and provided one assist.
