Who can apply for a disability pension?
The disability pension – officially called Non-contributory pension due to incapacity for work– is aimed at people who:
- Present a 66% incapacity for work or more officially certified.

- They don’t work under are working in a dependent relationship or as a self-employed person or regular monotributist (although social monotaxis can be accepted).
- Be native of Argentina, naturalized, or, in the case of foreigners, have proven permanent residence in Argentina.

How will pensions be processed in 2026?
From 2024, The procedure has been updated to streamline its administration: the regulations stipulate that the CMO must be presented in digital form – paper certificates are no longer accepted – in order to reduce bureaucratic delays.
The procedure is free and can be carried out via the digital platform National Social Security Agency (ANSES) or through a personal appointment.
Steps to follow
- Get the CMO: Go to a public hospital to have the appropriate medical examination.
- Enter the site or app ANSES with CUIL and Social Security Code.
- In the menu Advantageschoose “Non-contributory pension due to incapacity for work” and complete the personal information.
- Attach the required documents: Digital CMO, DNI and other medical reports or certificates if applicable.
If necessary, contact the ANSES office or the National Disability Agency (ANDIS) to validate the data.
What benefits does the pension offer?
- Monthly payment of 70% of a minimum pensionas currently established.
- Access to healthcare services, health insurance, rehabilitation, prosthetics or other support services for people with disabilities through the public health system.
- Incompatibility with formal jobs: The pension requires that you do not work in a dependent relationship or as a self-employed or regular mono-tributary.

It is a topic that often raises doubts. People who receive retirement benefits or pensions that are below the minimum wage can enroll in Social Security without losing their benefits. This enables them to carry out smaller economic activities without affecting their social security.
How to apply for pension rehabilitation
If a pension is suspended or needs to be updated, there are three official ways to request its rehabilitation:
- Send a note signed by the owner or his companion with the following attachment: Summary of medical history/medical study reports.

- When making an appointment in advance, please provide a note requesting rehabilitation and enclose the relevant medical documents.
CAL-ANDIS offices
- Fill out the form “Change in the situation of the beneficiary”accompanied by medical history and medical reports.
It is not necessary to submit a new official medical certificate for this procedure.
- Response deadlines: 24 to 72 hourswith a maximum 10 days. Legal proceedings are processed as a priority.
