The rector of the University of Seville, Carmen Vargaspresented this afternoon at the Auditorium of the Rectorate the composition of his new government teamwhich will be composed of a General secretariat, fourteen vice-rectorates and two general directorates. This … the new organizational chart is distinguished by its majority of women and to represent all the establishment’s campuses, reflecting a commitment to territorial and gender diversity. Among its components there is extensive experience in university management, in addition to a certain commitment to promoting internal talents in the United States, integrating members who have previously developed responsibilities as directors of the secretariat.
After the official inauguration ceremony, Carmen Vargas highlighted that the University of Seville is at a time when “the Complexity and hope coexist inseparably”, in reference to the challenges arising from the underfunding and the uncertainties affecting the university system as a whole. However, he affirmed that the institution will be able to identify opportunities to strengthen its academic project, renew its commitment to society and project itself into the future “with ambition and responsibility”.
The rector insisted that the new team will work to meet these challenges with rigor in management and responsibility in decision-making, always acting in a manner consistent with the history, mission and values of the University of Seville. In this sense, he highlighted the importance of sound strategic planning and effective resource management guarantee the quality of teaching, research and university services.
Finally, Carmen Vargas stressed that she assumes the coordination of the government team with the commitment to exercise it with loyalty to the university community, respect for current regulations and the institutional responsibility that the university deserves, reiterating her desire to lead a scene oriented towards stability, innovation and future projection of the University of Seville.
