This Christmas 2025 in Almería, one of the main attractions of the festive program is already underway with the launch of a large lighting structurewhich also sounds spectacular. As tradition dictates, it is located on Cathedral Square, where it rests on a large free-standing structure of considerable dimensions. Hiring this structure required an investment of 229,900 euros. The sound and light show which characterizes this structure is developed with three daily passes, each lasting at least eight minutes and the performance of three songs.
This giant tunnel has a structure composed of eight ogive-shaped porticos fourteen meters high and nine meters wide, separated by twelve meters from each other and supported by 16 pillars. In the central part of the complex, a dome nine meters in diameter and 19 meters high was installed, placed at the confluence of the four light tunnels. More than 90,000 LED light points illuminate this installation. The special lighting of Cathedral Square will have daily passages at 7:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., every day, until January 5.

The passes consist of the coordinated emission of light and sound effects, designed to create an enveloping environment and enrich the experience of the public enjoying Christmas in the heart of the city. Until January 6, residents and visitors of Almería will walk through streets lit with maximum energy efficiency, streets in which almost 200 arches and more than a hundred grouped motifs have been installed.
The facades of different spaces are also illuminated, such as the Teatro Apolo, the Central Market or the facade of the Town Hall, on which a mapping will also be projected, one of the new features of this extraordinary lighting. In addition to these reasons, were also installed around thirty figures on the ground, 3D structures (Christmas balls, Three Kings, candles…), two large fir trees (presiding over Puerta Purchena and Plaza de las Velas), almond trees between 4 and 8 meters and around 50 natural trees were decorated with ornamental lighting.
