LG wants to mark the territory again at CES 2026 with a television that is aimed directly at the highest range on the market. The Korean company will present in Las Vegas the LG Micro RGB evoits first LCD TV with RGB technology and an artificial intelligence processor inherited from its OLEDs, with the aim of taking color accuracy and brightness control to a new level
The Micro RGB evo represents a leap forward compared to the brand’s current MiniLEDs. The key lies in the use of Individual microscopic sized RGB LEDscontrolled with a precision that LG claims to have inherited from its more than 13 years of development in OLED. In practice, this translates to much finer control of backlighting and colors, which is particularly relevant in large format LCD TVs.
The person in charge of orchestrating all this technical deployment is the Third-generation AI α (Alpha) 11 processorbased on a Dual AI engine that allows two types of artificial intelligence scaling to be processed simultaneously. According to LG, this improves sharpness without introducing artificiality and maintains a more natural and balanced image.
Color at the limit of what current technology allows
One of the great arguments of the Micro RGB evo is its commitment to chromatic fidelity. Television reaches a 100% coverage of BT.2020, DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB color spacesa figure certified by Intertek and unusual even in premium models. This performance is aimed at both HDR and cinema content as well as more demanding uses, such as image and video editing.
Added to this is the system Ultra micro-dimmingwhich manages more than a thousand local dimming zones to adjust brightness and contrast with greater precision, allowing more details to be displayed in very dark and brighter scenes.
webOS, AI and long-term updates
Beyond the panel, LG is also focusing on the user experience. The Micro RGB evo arrives with customizable webOSvoice identification, AI-based image and sound assistants and functions such as chatbot or intelligent search to move between content. In addition, the brand maintains its commitment to updates: the program webOS Re:New guarantees software renewal for five years.
Giant sizes and premiere in Las Vegas
The LG Micro RGB evo (model MRGB95) will be available in 75, 86 and 100 inchesthe latter awarded a CES 2026 Innovation Awards. CES attendees will be able to see it in action January 6-9 at LG’s booth at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
With this launch, LG makes it clear that it does not consider the LCD journey to be over and that it is still possible to exploit the technology with ideas inherited from the OLED world. The Micro RGB evo is, on paper, your most ambitious bet for those looking for giant screens without sacrificing extreme image precision.
