Actress Tayce Araujo is the cover of the December issue of Marie Claire magazine.
In the post, she talked about the importance of work in her life. “My children ask me when I will retire. I tell them never. I tell them I am a much better mother because I work. There is no negotiation.”
She also talked about how she played the protagonist Raquel in the remake of ‘Vale Tudo’. “I’ve done some successful series. But I’ve never been in one that would stop the country. It was nice to be able to impact Brazil in this way.”
The actress also says she loved playing the character because it “touched very deep places.”
“I wanted to do something more primal, more real, less explained and more experienced. I think I succeeded in many moments. I finished this process very proud and happy.”
In August, Tice publicly complained about Raquel’s direction on the series. She said she was “shocked” when she noticed that her character would return to selling sandwiches on the beach, something that did not happen in the original plot. “As a black woman, as a black artist, I was hoping to see another novel about black women,” she said at the time.
She did not comment on the actress’s dissatisfaction with author Manuela Dias in the interview for the publication. The artist reported Dias to the broadcaster’s compliance department. The complaint came after a discussion between the two about how to develop Raquel.
