Coach Tite was confirmed as the new commander of Cruzeiro and will not take over Internacional in the 2026 season. The coach was considered one of the main targets of the Colorado management, but opted for the proposal of the Minas Gerais club, which advanced in negotiations and closed the deal after the departure of Leonardo Jardim.
The definition took place after meetings between representatives of SAF de Cruzeiro, Tite’s staff and the coach himself. Despite discussions about values, an agreement was reached, motivated mainly by the possibility of participating in the Copa Libertadores next year, a factor which weighed in the decision. On the side of Rio Grande do Sul, the turbulent political scenario ended up interfering in the process.
At Internacional, uncertainty persists. An internal movement that articulates a demand for the dismissal of President Alessandro Barcellos has generated instability and made it difficult to find a new name for the technical command. With this, the club ends negotiations for Tite and continues without a confirmed coach for 2026.
