Striker Memphis Depay was lively during the celebration of Corinthians’ victory in the Copa do Brasil this Sunday 21, after a 2-1 victory against Vasco at the Maracanã stadium, in Rio de Janeiro. The Dutch star sent a hint to star Neto and slammed the leaders of the São Paulo club.
“To the leaders who are screwing up this club, leave. Corinthians needs structure,” said the number 10 in an interview with Bandeirantes radio.
Previously, during a conversation with Amazon Prime Video’s Andre Hernan, the striker sent a hint to star player Neto, who participated as a commentator in the streaming broadcast alongside Galvão Bueno. “Sometimes in life things happen for a reason. I came to Brazil for a specific purpose. This club is very big, these fans are big. A lot of people worked against us, a lot of people on television worked against us. People talk a lot, a lot…”.
After the first game of the final, Neto was quick to criticize the Dutchman. “Who do you think you are? You’re the owner of Corinthians? You haven’t trained for two days, you don’t play, you don’t train… Why are they giving this guy so much power? You’re on the pitch. Does that mean you can’t be replaced? How many shots on goal have you taken?”
The title will bring a nice sum to the Dutch striker Memphis. As stipulated in the contract, the player is entitled to a bonus with a net value of R$4,725,603.00 for each title won during his employment with the club.
The clause is broad and applies to any competition, tournament or cup played by Corinthians throughout the duration of the contract. If the team is champion, payment must be made in one installment no later than the 20th of the month following the victory. (*With information from Estadão Conteúdo)
