Juan Carlos Toribio, former civil guard known for his work as an activist in favor of road safety, has once again denounced in one of its publications on social networks the dangers of a road located in the province of Zamora which does not respect several traffic rules.
More specifically, Toribio presents the ZA-L-2429, a road that has a functional width of just over four metersa road in poor condition with several potholes and you can even see shots in the road signs. In short, in the words of the former civil guard, the state of the road could cause serious harm to its userstherefore announcing the filing of a complaint.
What regulations does the road examined by Toribio violate?
First of all, the motorcyclists’ rights activist specifies that the General Directorate of Traffic does not comply with articles 139 and 140 of the General Traffic Regulations, as well as, must “encourage the road owner to ensure that the roads are in the best safety conditions”, specifies Toribio.
Furthermore, the former civil guard also concludes that the owner of the road does not comply with Article 57 of the Road Safety Act. In short, Juan Carlos Toribio goes to ZA-L-2429 and exclaims that “it continues very badly, it is an attack on the rule of law”, therefore, indicates that the reported road condition is already found.
What operational width should a road have?
In another of his videos, Toribio warns that when a road is too narrow and does not allow two vehicles traveling in the opposite direction cross safelyconsiderably increases the risk of accidents in our country.
Likewise, Juan Carlos Toribio explains that a conventional two-way road must have at least 6 meters wide when the speed limit is less than 40 km/h. If the authorized speed exceeds 40 km/h, the road should have more than 7 meters widethus ensuring that two vehicles can pass each other without difficulty, something that is not appreciated in ZA-L-2429.
