According to the press release, the decision is considered “drastic and undesirable” and aims to reduce operational costs to ensure the payment of employees’ salaries.
Transbus announced, this Friday (12), the temporary reduction in the operation of municipal public transport in Cachoeirinha, due to the interruption of the payment of fare subsidies by the City Hall. According to the company, the transfer is provided for by Law No. 4.892/22 and is fundamental for the financial balance of the system, with non-payment being the direct cause of the measure.
From this Saturday (13), bus traffic will be suspended daily between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. The partial closure will remain in effect until financial transfers are fully regularized by the municipal administration.
According to the statement, the decision is considered “drastic and undesirable” and aims to reduce operational costs to ensure employee salaries are paid. Transbus declares that responsibility for the situation lies exclusively with the licensing authority and emphasizes that there is no intention to harm users of public transport in the municipality.
The company also indicated that essential services will be maintained, including lines during morning and afternoon rush hours, in addition to school transportation. Transbus advises the population to follow its official channels to keep up to date and regrets the inconvenience caused to the Cachoeirinha community.
