The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, through the public company Adif, is finalizing the project to duplicate the route of the C3 line of the Cercanías core between Valencia and Aldaia, an action that represents a total investment of approximately 80 million euros and which will mean greater capacity, reliability and safety for the railway infrastructure. The project includes the construction of a new station in Aldaia, in the shopping and leisure center area of Bonaire.
The splitting of the road, in the final drafting phase, is currently being presented to the municipal councils of the municipalities included in the section. Concretely, it envisages the installation of an additional track on a section of approximately 12 kilometers of the C3 line (València-Buñol-Utiel, the second busiest in the core of Valencia Cercanías), from Valencia Sant Isidre to the future Bonaire station, passing through Xirivella.
The project will offer greater flexibility in the operation of the service, increasing traffic speed, while rationalizing maintenance costs. The objective is to continue to position rail as the benchmark means of transport, offering citizens a local transport service.
The Transport plan envisages the duplication of the track by installing approximately 4 kilometers of new track and taking advantage of the double track already installed belonging to the old C4 line between Xirivella and L’Alter.
In addition, connections will be made with the double track of València Sant Isidre and the Xirivella fork. Also discussed will be the remodeling and conditioning of the València Sant Isidre, Xirivella-Alqueries and Aldaia stations, as well as the configuration of the new Bonaire station.
Concerning this station planned in the Bonaire sector, it is configured as a passenger building with an area of approximately 500 square meters equipped with two platforms 210 meters long and 5 meters wide, linked together by a passage at different accessible levels.

The future facility, equipped with parking, will be located on Coscollar Road, with direct access to the industrial zone and commercial sector of Bonaire. On the other hand, Adif defines the solutions to be implemented in the four urban footbridges located within the scope of the track duplication project in the municipalities of Aldaia and Xirivella to adapt them to the new railway infrastructures and improve their accessibility.
The Bonaire shopping and leisure center, one of the largest in the Valencian Community, covers 135,000 square meters of total area and welcomes approximately 11.5 million visitors per year.
