PGR complaint
In the complaint presented to the STF, the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) stated that Wellington was driving the vehicle through which the explosive device was transported to the airport.
Alan Diego admitted to being responsible for placing the artifact in the truck parked there. George “acquired weapons and explosives worth R$60,000” and “searched on the Internet about explosives, on YouTube and on a shopping platform before the date of the attack, in addition to accessing information about the incident.” The PGR considered that he “had participated in the planning of the attack”.
Remember the case
On Christmas Eve 2022, teams from the Military Police (PMDF) and Fire Brigade (CBMDF), with the support of the Federal Police (PF) and the Civil Police (PCDF), mobilized in an area near Brasilia airport to defuse a bomb likely to cause serious damage or “a tragedy”, as the Director General of the Civil Police of the DF, Robson Cândido, defined it at the time.
The pump was attached to a tanker truck and was not activated due to a technical error. Police identified and arrested the suspect who attempted to detonate the device the same day.
The businessman who planned the attack in Brasilia has been identified as George Washington Oliveira Sousa. Shortly after, the other two names were mentioned.

According to the accusation of the Public Ministry of the DF and Territories (MPDFT) in the TJDFT, unhappy with Lula’s victory in the 2022 elections, Wellington Macedo de Souza, George Washington de Oliveira Souza and Alan Diego dos Santos Rodrigues planned to provoke what they call “social unrest” capable of triggering the declaration of a state of siege and military intervention, which, according to the plan, would remove the PT member from power.
They were found guilty of placing a bomb in a tanker truck that was about to enter Brasilia airport. The three men were serving their sentences in open custody when they were re-arrested at the request of Minister Alexandre de Moraes.
