DadasUS President Donald Trump’s government plans to stop to 80,000 immigrants in several industrial warehouses in the country which will be transformed into detention centersas reported exclusively this Wednesday Washington Post and they collected more media.
According to a plan reviewed by the newspaper, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (ICE) plans to detain immigrants in processing centers and then detain themtransfer them to one of these warehouses and finally expel them.
These facilities will house each between 5,000 and 10,000 people and will be located in the states of Virginia, Texas, Louisiana, Arizona, Georgia and Missouri. Most of these warehouses are located in areas run by the Republican Party, the newspaper points out, although two of them should be located in Stafford (Virginia) and Kansas City (Missouri), cities run by the Democrats.
Other cities that will house these large detention centers are Hutchins and Baytown (Texas); Hammond (Louisiana); Glendale (Arizona) and Social Circle (Georgia). Meanwhile, other regions will be home to new processing centers which will have between 500 and 1,500 bedslike Chester (New York), Salt Lake City or Los Fresnos (Texas).
The Post notes that ICE intends to share this plan with private detention companies this week. The new detention centers “will minimize costs, will reduce processing times, limit length of stays, speed up the eviction process and promote security“, dignity and respect” of the detainees, according to the draft examined by the media. Their structures will be modified to include accommodation units with showers and bathrooms, kitchens, dining rooms, recreational areas and even a library.
According to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) data released two weeks ago, Since January 20, 2025, the United States has expelled more than 605,000 migrantsin response to the Trump administration’s mass deportation plan.
